There are more than 100 municipal kindergartens in Tallinn. They all aim to provide the best possible environment to support children’s development into happy, curious and active people. One such institution is the renovated Tallinn Magdaleena Kindergarten.
We too had a small role to play in the new modern building, which takes into account the concept of a green city, because we care deeply about that which should be important to all of us – our children. We installed mirrors in the new kindergarten. We also set up other toilet furnishings such as litter bins and racks, and dispensers for paper towels, liquid hand soap and toilet paper.
AS Vanalinna Ehitus approached us with an offer of cooperation as they were in the process of building a new kindergarten. In turn, we enlisted the help of 3D-printing company 3DKoda to help us produce the frames for the mirror. The best solutions are born out of cooperation between experts in their field. We worked on the project throughout the winter and in the spring of 2024.
However, there are certain specifics to keep in mind when installing furniture and other furnishings in a kindergarten. After all, this is a place designed for children. Everything should be based on their needs. In some educational establishments, which certainly include kindergartens, furnishings need to be installed lower than the set standards.
While the mounting height was merely a special solution, the oval frames into which the mirrors had to be sunk presented a welcome challenge, and one which we solved expertly. What made this job particularly exciting was that the frame of the mirror had to be flush with the mirror – not as easy as you might expect for an oval mirror.
We hope that the children will feel at home in the new kindergarten and that they will be able to follow their development with childlike excitement through the mirrors we have installed. If you too would like carefully and skilfully designed solutions for your premises, contact us!
