Frequently Asked Questions

News.com.au tried to determine which is better: a hand dryer or paper towels? According to their research, hand dryers in public toilets facilitates the spread of germs much more so than paper towels. According to health officials, bacteria spread more easily when your hands are wet, meaning that there is hardly any point to washing your hands at all if you do not dry them. “Our research shows that hand dryers and paper towels are pretty much equal. The worst option is cloth towels due to contamination issues,” says Ron Cutler, a microbiologist at the University of London. “The most hygienic way of drying your hands is to use paper towels or the kind of hand dryer where you don’t have to rub your hands together,” added Anna Snelling, who led the research efforts. You should also refrain from touching the inside of the dryer as it can be extremely contaminated. Following the research, the University of London has concluded that hands should ideally be dried under a dryer for 20 seconds. “Nobody dries for that long,” admits Cutler. In his opinion, the best drying method should combine both approaches: start by drying your hands under a dryer and then with a paper towel. This will, however, be more taxing for the environment.

Extra white and white paper is made from cellulose pulp with long and layered wood fibres, giving the product softness, high absorbency and durability. Cellulose paper emits fewer dust particles and, with reasonable consumption, costs less. Cellulose pulp is obtained from virgin wood and is an environmentally friendly activity, as around 2% of the total wood supply is harvested for industrial use each year, with the annual supply of wood exceeding the volume harvested. Natural white or grey paper is made from washed waste paper pulp. The wood fibres in this paper have been repeatedly treated and are therefore short and irregularly spaced. Collected waste paper can be lightened by treating it with chemicals, so a product made from waste paper pulp is not necessarily more environmentally friendly. The paper quality is inferior to that made of a virgin pulp, as it tends to get dusty and leave lint on surfaces.

Paper towels are folded in four different ways: the so-called narrow folder paper towels are folded and interleaved into three (non stop Z) or four (one stop W), and there are also individual narrow-folded paper towels (C-fold). Wide paper towels are folded in half (V-fold) and are also interleaved. It is most convenient to use paper towels that are folded and interleaved, i.e. Z, W or V-fold. It is inconvenient to use the C-folder paper towels from a wall-mounted dispenser. This type of paper towel is more suitable for when you need a single very large sheet for a specific cleaning purpose, such as in solariums.

System products are best suited for clients who need a very precise overview of the consumption of paper products. We offer Katrin System dispensers and Classic quality paper products. The System range comes with a toilet paper roll with more sheets than a standard pack of folded toilet paper. As a result, it lasts longer and refilling the dispenser takes less time. Controlled use with a single 25 cm paper towel at a time. It reduces excess use, keeps a paper towel readily available and easy to reach, and due to its large surface area one towel is often enough to dry the hands. Hygienic, no contact with the dispenser or the next paper towel. Two 100-metre rolls are placed into the toilet paper dispenser at a time. The toilet roll is always used up. When the paper runs out, the core breaks in half and falls down, and a new roll of toilet paper is automatically dispensed through the feeder. This prevents the ends of the roll from simply being thrown away and keeps paper consumption under control.

You need five times less foaming hand soap than liquid hand soap to wash hands, so that a bottle of a similar size lasts much longer than liquid soap. It also takes less water to rinse the foaming soap from your hands, making it more economical. Foaming hand soap is gentler on the skin and brings a luxury to everyday life. Our range includes liquid and foaming hand soaps from various manufacturers, special refill packs for Katrin and Tork range dispensers. Grigeo foaming hand soap comes in a 5L canister and can be poured into the manufacturer’s foaming hand soap dispenser.

No certificate is required for bags with a special yellow marking. It is a regular bin bag that is twice as thick (the microns are measurable) to make it suitable for sharp objects without instantly breaking the bag. The bag for infectious waste is internationally agreed to be yellow and features a print with the relevant marking. This is to inform workers (including, for example, cleaners) who come into contact with infectious items when changing bags that the objects within are indeed infectious and that protective gloves should be worn.

These are DRY AIR FRESHENERS, which last for at least 30 days and are suitable for all rooms that should be pleasantly fragranced without the need to spray aerosol or similar products. The Bowl Clip can be easily hung, for example, outside the toilet bowl under the edge of the toilet seat or onto the water pipe behind the toilet. The Hang Tag is flat, making it easy to fit into all kinds of tight spaces: the top of a cupboard, into a bookshelf, under the car seat, etc. We offer a total of eight different fragrances, which we recommend replacing with a different one every month or two. This shows whoever is in the room often enough that the odour has changed. People’s noses quickly get used to a single odour, and if you only use one product all the time, it can feel as if there is no fresh scent in the room.

Before washing the mop/cloth, remove excess dirt by shaking, brushing or vacuuming it. The washing machine can only be filled to a maximum of 60% of its capacity. Use a detergent solution that gives a pH of less than 10.5 and higher than 4. The detergent must not contain bleach or zeolites. Never use a rinsing agent. Start by washing them in warm water without any chemicals to rinse out any chemicals that may have been used during the cleaning process and which may cause an adverse reaction at higher washing temperatures. Wash mops separately from other clothes at a temperature between 60-95*C. All products can be tumble dried at a maximum temperature of 55*C. Avoid excess drying as this will damage the fabric, reducing its useful life and cleaning performance. Please note! Use centrifuge at the lowest speed to avoid microfibre breakage. If necessary, all DUO mops we sell can be treated in an autoclave for 20 minutes at temperatures up to 121*C. Follow the usage and washing label on the mop.
